Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and [Your full legal name], an individual based in India who runs GrammarDeck ("we", "us"). They cover the GrammarDeck apps, keyboards and this website (https://grammardeck.com). By using GrammarDeck, you agree to them.

1. Your account

  • You need an account to check text. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for your account.
  • You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
  • Give accurate details. One person per account.

2. Free and Pro plans

  • The Free plan includes a limited number of basic checks each day.
  • Pro adds AI checks with a daily fair-use limit. The limit is high enough for normal personal use. It stops automated or bulk use, which costs us much more.
  • We may change what each plan includes. If a change reduces what you pay for, we will tell you first.

3. Payment and renewal

  • Pro costs ₹200 a month or ₹2,000 a year in India, and $3.99 a month or $39 a year elsewhere. Taxes may be added where the law requires. Pro users in India can also buy packs of 1,000 extra credits for ₹49. Pack credits expire at the next monthly reset and are not carried over.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time. Pro then stays on until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Pro stays on until the paid date and then your account moves to Free.
  • We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change. The new price applies from your next renewal.

4. Who sells to you

  • In India, we sell Pro to you directly, and Razorpay processes the payment.
  • Outside India, our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders outside India. Paddle handles customer service questions about payments and handles returns. Its buyer terms also apply to those orders.
  • In the phone apps, you can buy Pro through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google then bill you, and their terms and refund rules apply.

5. Your text

  • Your text stays yours. We use it only to check it and return the fix, as our privacy policy describes.
  • Suggestions come from automated tools, including AI, and can be wrong. Read the fix before you send it. You are responsible for what you publish.
  • Do not use GrammarDeck for text you are not allowed to share with a third-party service.

6. Fair use

Our acceptable use policy is part of these terms. In short, you agree not to:

  • break the law or anyone's rights with GrammarDeck;
  • share your account, resell the service, or call our servers from your own software;
  • try to get around the limits, overload the service, or reverse engineer the apps beyond what the law allows.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. If we close a paid account without good reason, we will refund the unused part.

7. The service

We work to keep GrammarDeck running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error free. We may change or stop features. If we stop GrammarDeck completely, we will refund the unused part of any paid subscription.

8. Liability

GrammarDeck is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using GrammarDeck and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play as well.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Kerala, India, have jurisdiction, but you may also use the courts where you live if your local consumer law allows it.

11. Changes and contact
